Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce Upcoming Events
The Land O' Lakes Flapjack Festival is like a mixture of flapjack batter: bright, tasty, a blend of down-home ingredients, and always ready for a hot time!
The Central Chamber of Commerce puts on the festival in November and serves FREE Flapjacks on Saturday from 8am -10am. The Festival is held on the Pasco County Fair Grounds – 36722 State Road 52, Dade City.
It began 31 years ago, in 1977, when a group of community clubs got together to put on an event that would provide fun, food and entertainment for the entire community.
The FREE flapjacks were offered for the first time in 1983 and the Land O' Lakes Butter Company of Minnesota supplied the butter that year and every year since. Since those small beginnings the festival has grown every year to the point where it has become not only the biggest event in the community, but an event that attracts visitors from surrounding counties and across the country
Sponsored by the Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce, the Flapjack Festival is a premier community building event which enables local clubs and organizations to raise funds for their causes. Among the groups benefiting from the Flapjack Festival are: The Land O' Lakes High School Athletic Booster Club, Central Pasco schools, local churches, and other charitable organizations.
Local residents have come to know that the change of seasons in Land O' Lakes - from a long and sultry summer to a cool, tropical autumn - is evident when the scent of fall is in the air. It smells like Flapjacks. And it's something to flip over!
